Nihon Maturi Original T-shirt 2026/2025 $25

The Story Behind Our 2026 Nihon Matsuri T-shirt
We are pleased to introduce this year's official festival t-shirt! This design was created to celebrate the deep connection between Utah and Japan by weaving together traditional Japanese motifs and local symbols.
【Design Concept: Unity of Utah & Japan】
The hexagonal layout is inspired by the Utah Beehive (symbolizing community and cooperation) and the Japanese Kikko (Tortoise Shell) pattern (symbolizing longevity). It represents our wish for the continued prosperity of our diverse community.
【The Meaning Within the Motifs】
Each crest was thoughtfully selected or specially created to tell our story:
Mountains & Stars: We chose this traditional Japanese "Mountain and Three Stars" crest to bridge Utah’s landscape with the American spirit. In Japanese heraldry, circles are a classic way to represent "Hoshi" (Stars), which symbolize guidance and protection.
Original Sego Lily Crest: Since the Sego Lily does not exist in traditional Japanese heraldry, our designer specially created this "Sego Lily Kamon" from scratch. It was designed in the authentic style of a Japanese family crest to beautifully harmonize Utah’s state flower with our cultural traditions.
Root Symbols: Traditional crests of Mt. Fuji, the Crane, and Sakura are included as a tribute to our heritage and cultural roots.
This design represents our commitment to sharing Japanese culture and history within the Utah community and passing them on to future generations.
【Sales Information】
